Black Dog Day. 10/07/2010
You may notice I am now on a 'side on 'angle to you for this chat. My armchair has been moved. No more 'front on', chats. ![]() Changes started to happen last night. I was very concerned and tried not to look. The U shape desk was dissembled and became one long desk against the wall and a island desk beside the sofa. It was no place for a dog, here last night. No cuddles, no evening walks, just this crazy changing furniture around . I was perfectly happy with where the furniture was. It was no place for a dog, here last night. No cuddles, no evening walks, just this crazy changing furniture around. I was perfectly happy with where the furniture was. At least they did not move the LCD TV, I can still watch Dr Harry, my favourite Vet show. ![]() Then today, I got left home alone during the morning after an obviously rushed walk (they thought I would not notice). Then when they got home the shut me in the bedroom and there were strangers here and I was not allowed to check them out. "What do they keep a dog for?" Then my human dad unpacked this big flat box and put together this strange black thing. I watched trying to understand it all. That's when they decided I had to have my chair moved. I hope it still catches the morning sun. Then mum put her walking shoes on, stepped on this strange black thing and started WALKING. "Walking without ME." Had the audacity to wave to me too. "It has been a black dog day." "Humans Grrwhoof !" 2 Comments Problems. 10/05/2010
Adjusting to Daylight Saving Time. 10/04/2010
I am still trying to get used to daylight saving. My dog’s body clock always has me asking for my morning walk at 9am and I left it until 10 am yesterday and this morning because I had not had daylight saving explained to me. I wondered why the family were getting out of bed before me. Well I am not going to be the silly dog tomorrow. Poodles are intelligent dogs; we just needed it explained to us in language we understand. Daylight savings means an extra hour a day to play ball. Or an extra hour to each chicken and mealtime titbits, Indigo is thinking she does not mind eating table scrap tit bits for an extra hour, she is will not be worrying, do diet pills work she will happily run it off chasing balls. or an extra hour a day for walks. I think I am going to LOVE daylight saving. Daylight Saving Time. 10/03/2010
"Good morning" ![]() Indigo "It can't be my morning walk time. I feel like I missed an hour's sleep." Kathy’s Note: Thank goodness Indigo is a self-employed writer (She allows me to take the credit for hitting the computer keys for her) and she does not hold down a real retail job as she is not ready to wake up an hour earlier just because the clocks were moved back one hour. Does daylight savings effect your child's sleep routine? Grand Final Day 10/02/2010
Not fit for a dog. Grand final afternoon and the TV is on and no mention of my afternoon walk. Nothing to do but sulk in my armchair. Disability Assistance Dogs. 09/28/2010
There are seizure dogs, trained to forewarn of epileptic seizure and to assist the sufferer to a safe location. Migraine Alert dogs exist and act like seizure alert dogs, staying beside the sufferer, watching to make sure they are safe, sounding an alert if any danger is sensed, until the sufferer obtains migraine relief. There are Autism dogs, Alzheimer's dogs, Post Traumatic Stress dogs, Hearing dogs, Cardio/Pulmonary/Vascular dogs, Psychiatric Aid dogs, as well as Mobility dogs. Many of these dogs aid a partner that does not show an obvious disability to the average person. Our Indigo is a disability care dog for my husband Reg who has frontal lobe degeneration. Indigo knows she has a responsibility of care toward Reg. We are both very aware of how well Indigo helps care for him. Her work would be less obvious to others Happy Fathers Day. 09/05/2010
Happy Father's Day, dad. Love from Indigo. I did not know what to buy dadFather’s day. He has no vices. He doesn’t drink, smoke, gamble flirt with wild women, or even eat chocolate. He is a scrooge with his money and uses a swap library for books to read so I couldn’t even buy him another book. Then the other daughter and the grandchildren turned up and gave this man who rarely drinks beer and chocolate and I realized I could have bought him Davidoff cigars even if he doesn’t smoke, because- I learned it is the thought that counts. Anyhow I found the perfect gift, a big enthusiastic kiss. Happy Father’s day, Dad. Dog's Day, Inside When it Rains. 09/04/2010
I am spending the rainy day, looking for the C6 led christmas lights. Indigo is settling in to enjoy the benefits of a rainy day and daydreaming. I bet she is thinking, ‘Maybe given dad and I will both be going for walks due to all the puddles outside, there might be a roast dinner with some good girl tit-bits for me, tonight. There certainly should be plenty of sit on the knee cuddle opportunity today. I am a bit of a 'Pollyanna' at heart, I make the most of all conditions, and sunshine or rain, there is fun in it for me. We even lay ball games in the house when we can't play them outside and I have a couple of soft toy dogs I play with when I can't go out and meet and greet the neighbours. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, I wondered if you would consider voting for me to become a 'Top' ranking dog by clicking on the link below and giving me a rating :-). It certainly would give me a wag of the tail to get some votes :-). Thank you xxx’ Getting Life Back to Normal 08/31/2010
I went for a walk around my estate today. Thank goodness life is getting back to normal. I stayed up and kept mum company during her final pacing stressed hours of proof reading then encouraged her and gave her confidence to push the send button and send her work of fiction to the publisher. The ground has been very cold, I might suggest to mum and dad that they could buy me a pair of snow boots. THANK GOODNESS I am getting out for lots of walks again. It is the last day of winter and I was showing off my posh Dryasabone Aussie oilskin coat to the local dogs, they were quite impressed by my style. It is great for hiding a bad hair day. Indigo Wishing her Dad a Happy 70th Birthday 08/27/2010
You can see the love between these two. Reg has always loved dogs and don’t they know it. The can twist him around their little paws. This time of year we need some save the date cards. It is a VIP week with Reg’s milestone 70th Birthday closely followed by Father’s Day, here in Australia. Indigo gave Reg several hard back novel’s for his birthday, I need to scratch my head and come up with a suitable Father’s Day Gift for her to give him.
