Reg and I are applying for work in the outback. Work where we might miss out on the opportunity because we have a dog. I hope that will not be so as Indigo is a member of our family.
I know she will enjoy the lifestyle, she loves travel, there is a good vet in Alice Springs and I know she can be cared for every bit as well in outback Australia as here in northern Victoria.
Dogs are very much a part of the Australian Aboriginal Communities though they are not usually the house pet that Indigo is and some would be lean and hungry dogs we would need to keep Indigo away from.

_ ‘Red Dog’ has been ranked as one of Australia's top 10 Films of all time. Kriv Stenders’ family film has proven a huge hit at the box office.
Koko the dog takes its place alongside the iconic Mick Dundee and loveable pig Babe as the film Red Dog becomes Australia's tenth most popular film of all time.
Raking in over $17 million at the box office, the independent film beat out long-standing favourite, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, which previously held the number 10 spot with $16.45 million.
"Priscilla is a favourite film of both the director and I so it is an honour to be in the same league," says producer Nelson Woss. "Making the top 10 Australian films of all time is a terrific result for the entire Red Dog team."
The film follows the titular Red Dog as it inspires a remote Australian town in its epic search for its master. Directed by prolific Aussie filmmaker Kriv Stenders, the film has proven a hit with audiences and critics alike.
Considering its budget (much smaller than many of the other big-budget productions on the list), it's a hugely impressive result and the production team see its position possibly improving. "We are one of only four independent films on the list," says Woss, "and there is still some life in ‘the dog' yet, so we may reach seventh or eighth place."
The other films on the list of the ten highest grossing box officer earners include, in respective order, Crocodile Dundee, Australia, Babe, Happy Feet, Moulin Rouge, Crocodile Dundee 2, Strictly Ballroom, The Dish and The Man From Snowy River.

Indigo is fascinated by the tree frogs that climb our windows at night. I love them and believe they are beneficial in ridding my garden of pests. I don't know fro sure but I imagine they must be after spiders which are plentiful here in the summer months, especially loving the corners f our external windows.
Can you imagine Indigo following the progress of these frogs from the inside? Some nights she just likes to sit at the window and watch them instead of coming to bed. She gived little barks - knowing she will get into trouble if she barks loudly at them. Just the same I am none too impressed when she begins to bark softly at frogs at 3 am in the morning

With zany characters and high-spirited scenes that practically bounce off the page, this witty and affectionate book tells the story of a dog looking for relief on a hot day. Full color. Review
A lovable shaggy brown dog cools off on hot day and is shooed away every time he finds the perfect refreshment.
After each dousing, "Wet dog smiled his sorry-dog smile and wagged his sorry-dog tail. Then he flapped his ears, and he sniffed the air, and he trotted off down the road...pat-a-pat, pat-a-pat, pat."
Children will love the characters' actions when wet dog shakes himself.

"There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face. " Bern Williams Do you let your dog lick your face? Some pet owners do not allow this, others think it is a loving gesture and encourage itIt may seem affectionate and fun but, your dog’s lick could give you more than you asked for. Have you thought about what your dog licked before it tried to lick your face? Even if garbage and feces are not in the dog’s mouth, the bacteria from them probably is. This means that letting your dog lick your face may not be the cleanliest decision. It may not give you acne but it certainly is not a best treatment for acne. There are health risks associated with letting your dog lick you. One of the biggest is roundworms. Roundworms are an intestinal parasite commonly found in puppies and can be passed to you through licking. If you get your pet tested regularly and give it de-worming medication every month, the risk is slim to none. Either way it’s something to consider if you are going to let your dog lick you anytime they please. Some serious medical conditions can be caused by roundworms. Symptoms are cough, fever and headache. The risk is highest for young children. Other illnesses and diseases can be transmitted in addition to roundworms. These include Leptospirosis, Salmonella, and E. coli. These can all be passed through the saliva
