Indigo the Beach Bum, Scruff. 06/18/2010
Indigo has been enjoying visits and being, visited. I sure need to clip her before we have any more socializing; she is starting to look, rather long haired around the face and scruffy. She is overdue, for ‘the works’. In fact both her dad and her are both getting a little overgrown, not exactly refined enough for bow ties, either one of them lol J but they sure are having fun here at this lovely quiet coastal fishing retreat town of Flying Fish Point. Reg caught a bream today and he was so proud of himself he rushed back with it calling out for a photo so Indigo missed her walk down to the shore to fetch daddy home. Indigo has settled in for the winter season at Flying Fish Point Caravan Park and she LOVES it here. Her idea of a fat burner session is to run along the beach with mum .The dog friendly beach is directly opposite our shady camp site, Indigo only has one complaint about the place. They catch fish here, not chickens. Indigo LOVES a feed of chicken. As Indigo’s dad, heard that 'the fishing was great here at Flying Fish Point', Indigo’s mum bought her dad a fishing line and he went out that first night and fed the fish bait. That day was good, with no fish caught; they had bought a chicken and did the share the chicken skin and some chicken with Indigo trick she had trained mum and dad to do. Second night dad went out with the rod and caught two fish, enough for dinner for two people, none for Indigo. Third night and there were four fish caught and again none shared with Indigo, mum and dad said it was too good to share. First night, learning to cast, for the first time no fish. Second Night, two fish caught. Third Night four fish :-)...it is looking promising, maybe tomorrow night Indigo gets to try her first home cooked fish dish. It is SHOW TIME! The dogs and owners are arriving and Indigo has reserved the 'best seat in the house.' It was Indigo’s turn to go out, to the entertainment at Ballina Beach Tourist Park, with, Byron Circus Arts giving lessons on the Flying Trapeze. The dogs and their owners were there in force, loving the show. It has been a fantastic holiday here at this caravan/tourist park with a surprising amount of free entertainment. I will let the photos do the talkingJ. Beach Bum By Choice, Dog. 04/28/2010
That is me on the spacious lawns of Ballina Beach Holiday Park, watching dad set up the caravan annex yesterday. Today, Mum was driving me to the dogs off the leash beach here at South Ballina today and I was looking forward to it, when she pulled over, I thought she must need some good sam roadside assistance but no she had decided to go and get her hair styled and a few foils put in it. What a crock. How boring for a dog. Not only that, there is a serious danger that now she has smartened herself up, I will be next and I like being a beach bum, type. I am loving it here at Ballina Beach Holiday Park, enjoying the easy life, see photos below, when I am not at the beach or waiting for mum while she shops and does her ladies’ stuff, in Ballina. Indigo has had another evening romping along the beautiful Seven Mile Beach behind her mum. ![]() Now if Indigo's mum, Kathy ran 6 kilometres and Indigo ran back and forth between her running mum and her walking dad, I guess she must have run more than 10 kilometres on her little legs. Mind you she takes heaps of naps and that is easy here in the tranquil settings of Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park, where we have been staying for the past fewdays and just loving it. When we travel, I have to keep an eye on Indigo’s weight, as she gets so much exercise she sure does not need 7-dfbx. I think she would prefer the chicken skin and the steak gristle tit bit table scraps and without these I think she would loss too much weight in her valiant attempt to keep both mum and dad company during these fun exercise sessions. If we see her getting tired, we do pick her up and carry her. J, she loves coming home from the beach, in dad’s arms. If anyone has any ideas for helping a very active dog maintain weight, I would be interested in hearing them. Love em and Leave em. 04/20/2010
I have been working hard, taking mum out for her fitness runs and waking dad, at Seven Mile Beach, NSW. It has proved a great place to make friends. ![]() After my walk along the beach, I reached the creek and there on the other side was this cute dog. Well I looked at him, he looked at me, and it was love at first sight. Then with a character as strong as diamonds, he dog paddled across the creek to share a doggie date with me. ![]() Whom will I meet and fall in love with tomorrow? J. Its fun being a gray nomad dog, no ties, love em and leave em. J ![]() Mum needs to shampoo me with hair growth shampoos lol, after all the fun and romps I am having here. That's mum, brushing the sand out of my hair, making me look cute ready for the next 'pick up'. I have had two perfect days here at Seven Mile Beach. We are staying at and highly recommend the very dog friendly Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park. I am staying at Fountain Caravan Park, enjoying the spacious lawns and the lovely lake boardwalk, directly opposite which takes me straight to the dogs off a leash beach. What more could a dog want for a perfect holiday location? J ![]() My mum and dad love it here at this dog friendly caravan park, too. The park is centrally located in beautiful Eden on the Sapphire Coast of NSW. We plan to use the Fountain Caravan Park as a base to explore this area for a few days. Above are some photos, mum took of the park entrance and caravan sites. This side, photo shows me enjoying the lake boardwalk on my way to the beach, yesterday. ![]() I am definitely putting Fountain Caravan Park at Eden, southern NSW, on my highly recommended caravan parks, list. I have already recommended this place to our own family. J. It is one day’s drive from Melbourne or Sydney though I recommend an easy two days, relaxing drive with lots of dog walks along the way. This photo shows me enjoying the views of the many water birds in the lake, from my favorite vantage point, dad's arm. Dogs At The Beach 02/21/2010
I am having another great day beside the pool here at Phillip Island. We had my favorite, chicken for lunch. We are heading to the off leash beach at 5pm today so I can run in the sand with mum. Check out my dog walks and pet friendly caravan parks section of this web site. Planning ahead anf thinking about Balina Beach Villiage, one of the places I will be staying once we leave Victoria. It’s stressful finding holiday accommodation that accepts four-legged friends. It’s much more relaxing to bring your dog, cat or budgerigar with you. Ballina Beach Village is a pet friendly destination. More than friendly, it positively welcomes your pets to its sites and cabins. There’s space enough for you and your pet to have a real holiday. Contact Ballina Beach Village on 026686 3347 to find out more. Travel safe. Dog friendly by arrangement with management during off season. We chose Seaview Holiday Park at Phillip Island, as an overnight stop over, so we could enjoy the solar heated pool. Our caravan was parked beside the pool, in an awkward to back into site. The park appears to specialize in cabins and permanent on site vans. It was quiet the day we arrived. Very pleasant.
