Dogs At The Beach 02/21/2010
I am having another great day beside the pool here at Phillip Island. We had my favorite, chicken for lunch. We are heading to the off leash beach at 5pm today so I can run in the sand with mum. Check out my dog walks and pet friendly caravan parks section of this web site. Planning ahead anf thinking about Balina Beach Villiage, one of the places I will be staying once we leave Victoria. It’s stressful finding holiday accommodation that accepts four-legged friends. It’s much more relaxing to bring your dog, cat or budgerigar with you. Ballina Beach Village is a pet friendly destination. More than friendly, it positively welcomes your pets to its sites and cabins. There’s space enough for you and your pet to have a real holiday. Contact Ballina Beach Village on 026686 3347 to find out more. Travel safe. Dog friendly by arrangement with management during off season. We chose Seaview Holiday Park at Phillip Island, as an overnight stop over, so we could enjoy the solar heated pool. Our caravan was parked beside the pool, in an awkward to back into site. The park appears to specialize in cabins and permanent on site vans. It was quiet the day we arrived. Very pleasant. No seniors or club membership discounts a flat $30. a night and no bond for the dog. I have a medium strength internet connection, using a one meter long internet antenna and Telstra Mobile connection. TV reception is fair. I Address 411 Settlement Road Cowes VIC 3922 Australia Phone number It is Saturday night, the only sound is the lapping of the pool and a kookaburra laughing. Very peaceful, away from trafic and a very quiet park. There is a private dog walker, known by the managment of the park who could care for your dog while you attend any of the tourist facilities where dogs cannot go. Phillip Island Nature Park Phillip Island YHA Island Surfboards Walks, rides and scenic drives Inter Island Ferries Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit Phillip Island Helicopters A timely and helpful email reply to my enquiry about staying at a dog friendly caravan park, came to me this morning from Lakes Entrance Tourist Park. http://www.lakesentrancetouristpark.com/ Discounts apply to OZ Park members or CMCA members. However, we do offer 1 night free when booking for 7 nights (pay 6). Rates are at $25.00 per night for two people. Just advising you that the State and Junior championships for Surf Life saving, is being held here on the weekend of 5th March to the 8th March. This will be a very busy weekend in Lakes. Thank you for your fast and hepful reply, Nance, at Lakes Entrance, Tourist Park.:-) I received another friendly email from Margaret at http://www.tarra-valley.com/index.html Fernholme Tarra Valley Tourist Park, saying there is another walk (Duff's sawmill track) you can do with your dogs on the other side of Tarra Bulga National park which is quite interesting. They also have a small walk opposite the park along the river. I have added this information to the dog friendly walks, Victoria, page of the reference website. Browse Pet Related Articles
WOW! Looking at these pictures sent to us by the management of Ballina Beach Village, I know that my human mum and dad are going to have a ball during our stay there as part of my review tour of dog friendly caravan parks. Small dogs, well behaved dogs like me, are allowed at this great holiday venue at the management’s discretion, outside of peak holiday periods. Mum and dad are looking forward to the nature walks, birdlife, whale and dolphin watching. There are heaps of outdoor activities for the more adventurous, kayaking, surfing, 4WD on the 25 kilometres of beach. Taken from the Ballina Beach Village and Wilderness Camping Park website. Found at 440 South Ballina Beach Road, South Ballina on the other side of the Richmond River from Ballina itself, and can be reached in two ways. From Ballina Most people, visitors and locals alike use the ferry across the Richmond River, which is at the end of Burns Point Ferry Road, about 10 minutes from the centre of Ballina. The turn off is left off the Pacific Highway about 300m south of the Big Prawn complex in West Ballina. After a brief ferry ride, take the first turn left about 200m from the ferry. Our Park is the second one along about 4.4km. The ferry operates from 5.30am to 12.30am daily. It is only closed on the second Tuesday of each month from 9am to 12 noon. The 4 minute trip across the Richmond River is well worthwhile just for the tranquil view it gives of Ballina itself and really sets the mood for your beautifully relaxing break at our wilderness holiday park. From Wardell The alternative approach if travelling from South of Wardell, is to take the road on the south side of the Richmond River 200m south of the Wardell Bridge, which is about 15 km south of Ballina. Then travel North, turning right just before the ferry is reached. A sign points the way. Ours is the second (and last) holiday/caravan park on the right about 4.4km from that turnoff. Kathy Reg and Indigo and looking forward to our visit.:-) in 2010 during our review of dog friendly caravan parks, tour. The gray-nomad, and doggies blog, 2010 review of dog-friendly caravan parks, tour. Reg, Indigo our poodle and will be touring Australia, in 2010,reviewing dog-and J people friendly, caravan parks and I am going to do some on location paint outs. Our first tour will be of Victoria, beginning in summer and continuing into early autumn 2010. Currently our focus will be on the northeast scenic location around Goughs Bay and Mansfield, where our family own an onsite caravan and we can holiday with the family at Goughs Bay Caravan Park. Check out our on site caravan for sale page if you would like a great family holiday van at a bargain price as our travels do not allow us to use this van enough to warrant keeping it. The second phase of our review tour will take us to another favourite location of ours, beautiful Grampians region, in Victoria’s west. We will stay at Grampians Gardens Tourist Park. Then we will tour into NSW reviewing dog-friendly caravan parks and we will revisit two of our favourite areas, the Kiama Coast, staying at Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park and South Ballina staying at Ballina Beach Holiday Park Then we tour into QLD, and will be staying at Captain Cook Holiday Village adjacent to a national park, magnificent beaches, in the beautiful town of 1770, near Agnes Waters. Then touring further north towards Cairns, we will stay at the Flying Fish Point Tourist Park. See photos. I am purchasing a new camera so I can better capture wildlife and bird photos and I plan to paint, on location and I will be keen to hear local interesting stories that I can share with my readers. Every year, Reg and I feel that ‘this is our best tour ever’ and J 2010 certainly is forming up as one of our best. Once we reach the top end, of QLD, who knows which direction we will take at this stage, Email me, Kathy, if you have a dog friendly venue you would like me to review during this tour or if you would like to view art or book an art tutorial. Another great, dog friendly place to stay. Captain Cook Holiday Village in the town of 1770. Named for the historic landing of Captain Cook in 1770 on the 24th of May 1770. This was Cooks first landing in Queensland and hence why it is now considered by many to be the birthplace of Queensland. Captain Cook was accompanied by Botanist Joseph Banks and Dr Solander having anchored the Endeavour a couple of miles offshore. Reg and I (and the Indigo our dog J ), stayed at a site, in the top right hand corner of the park, very quiet and peaceful and t was near a walking trail that lead down to the beach where we took Indigo our poodle for late afternoon early evening walks. Reg, Indigo our poodle and I stayed at this caravan park in 2007 and we plan to return in 2010. Reg and I are planning our 2010 Australian tour, Every year our tour has a theme and for 2010 our purpose and theme will be to review dog friendly caravan parks and venues in a permanent location in our two travel related web sites, our Gray Nomad and our doggies blog, web site. We will visit many dog friendly venues and accommodation places suited to having a powered site for our Eco-tourer slipstream caravan with a preference for a drive through site and a scenic locations with a swimming area and bush or beach walks. Our tour locations must be pet friendly as we will be travelling with indigo our miniature poodle. This 2010 tour will be a self-funding writers and painters working holiday. Please contact me, Kathy if you have a venue or a caravan park that you would like me to include in our dog-friendly caravan park, review tour |
