Indigo has had another evening romping along the beautiful Seven Mile Beach behind her mum. ![]() Now if Indigo's mum, Kathy ran 6 kilometres and Indigo ran back and forth between her running mum and her walking dad, I guess she must have run more than 10 kilometres on her little legs. Mind you she takes heaps of naps and that is easy here in the tranquil settings of Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park, where we have been staying for the past fewdays and just loving it. When we travel, I have to keep an eye on Indigo’s weight, as she gets so much exercise she sure does not need 7-dfbx. I think she would prefer the chicken skin and the steak gristle tit bit table scraps and without these I think she would loss too much weight in her valiant attempt to keep both mum and dad company during these fun exercise sessions. If we see her getting tired, we do pick her up and carry her. J, she loves coming home from the beach, in dad’s arms. If anyone has any ideas for helping a very active dog maintain weight, I would be interested in hearing them. Dog friendly Beach Walks. 04/15/2010
![]() Indigo is sleeping off yet another romp on a dog friendly beach and walks alongside the lake and many meetings with new friends. ![]() So I am sharing some photos of her tonight, thinking she is starting to look too scruffy to photograph, lol, she is taking on something of a beach bum look and definitely needs me to find the time to bath, blow dry and clip her.. If ever you have a story you would love to share about your dog or dogs, and pictures, please send them to Indigo’s mum, Kathy I have started a list of dog friendly walks in this web site, you are welcomg to eamil me with information about great dog walk locations, to add to these pages. I am staying at Fountain Caravan Park, enjoying the spacious lawns and the lovely lake boardwalk, directly opposite which takes me straight to the dogs off a leash beach. What more could a dog want for a perfect holiday location? J ![]() My mum and dad love it here at this dog friendly caravan park, too. The park is centrally located in beautiful Eden on the Sapphire Coast of NSW. We plan to use the Fountain Caravan Park as a base to explore this area for a few days. Above are some photos, mum took of the park entrance and caravan sites. This side, photo shows me enjoying the lake boardwalk on my way to the beach, yesterday. ![]() I am definitely putting Fountain Caravan Park at Eden, southern NSW, on my highly recommended caravan parks, list. I have already recommended this place to our own family. J. It is one day’s drive from Melbourne or Sydney though I recommend an easy two days, relaxing drive with lots of dog walks along the way. This photo shows me enjoying the views of the many water birds in the lake, from my favorite vantage point, dad's arm. When Friends Come to Visit. 04/10/2010
I had a wonderful time at Lakes Entrance because my very best dog friend Kelly came to visit me. ![]() Kelly and I took the folks for lots of walks, along the esplanade, the lake edge and in it then over the bridge to the 90-mile beach at Lakes Entrance and back to the caravan park we stayed at as neighbours. Dogs are not allowed, in the National Parks but they are sometimes allowed in the car, and an owner can sit in a car in a car park with them and view scienery at some National Parks. You do need to check for the rules for each location. There are many coastal parks where dogs are allowed on a lead during certain times. These links may prove useful to dog owners to check out when you can visit waterways and beaches with your dog. ![]() Marine, Coastal Parks and Reserves Bay of Islands Coastal Park Bunurong Marine Park Cape Conran Coastal Park Cape Liptrap Coastal Park Corner Inlet Marine & Coastal Park Discovery Bay Coastal Park Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park Nooramunga Marine & Coastal Parks Point Cook Coastal Park Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park Wilsons Promontory Marine Park Parks along Victoria's coast Bay of Islands Coastal Park Bunurong Marine Park Cape Conran Coastal Park Cape Liptrap Coastal Park Cape Nelson Lighthouse Reserve Cape Nelson State Park Cape Schanck Lighthouse Reserve Corner Inlet Marine & Coastal Park Croajingolong National Park Discovery Bay Coastal Park Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park Great Otway National Park Mornington Peninsula National Park Nooramunga Marine & Coastal Parks Point Cook Coastal Park Port Campbell National Park Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park The Lakes National Park Wilsons Promontory Marine Park Wilsons Promontory National Park Port Phillip and Surrounds Point Cook Coastal Park Port Phillip St Kilda Pier Rivers Maribyrnong River Patterson River Yarra River Western Port and surrounds Coolart Wetlands & Homestead French Island National Park Western Port ![]() I was sad when it was time for Kelly and her family to go, I will not see them again until springtime. When I tour I sit in the tiny space between mum and dad, in the front of our 'troopy', but Kelly had a family and she is too big to squish in between people so she has a beaut travel kennel built on the back of the family's ute. I think it's pretty 'cool' :-). Kelly looked a bit dejected that our fun together was over too. We had (and shared) a 'ball' together J W Puppy play on the Pilbara Coast. 07/27/2009
