Mystery reading and writing and relaxing with the dog. 12/28/2011

Indigo is keeping me company, enjoying a relax beside me as I have a big, post Christmas read in.

What are you reading?
I just finished reading "How to write Mystery and the roller coaster of suspense". I have a greater understanding of the genre now.
I love an after Christmas long reading session :-).

"How to write Mystery and the roller coaster of suspense" is the second of the Mystery books I've read recently. I found it hard to even find any in Kindle.
I think what helps me with my writing more than any books, is my previous art career of over 50 years. I just apply the same degree pf professionalism to it - I know you have to study, practice and just do it, listen and learn and the inspiration only flows after you have made the plan and gotten stuck into doing the work - on a daily basis. Just set a date - soon and decide how much time you have to work at it , how much time you can give to training for it (reading ) and then do it.

I love it so much I have to do the opposite. I have to plan what time I must spend away from my creative passion and just do it, regardless of injury or desire to break from what i love, excuses. Observation and correction tools, are your best teacher. I wouldn't spend $9.95 (Kindle price) on that book again for what I learned from it, but it would be worth borrowing from a library. I'm into the book on avoiding book rejections now. :-). Enjoying a good read in today and this evening. :-)

Anything you never thought would happen, happened to you in 2011?
I never thought I would see.:-

I got Indigo to change her dog food. She has a new favorite brand. As long as it stays 'on special' I will be happy with that.

In 2011 I have finally got my husband, to not only eat yogurt for the first time - but to love it. lol :-).

One of my friends, I never thought they would fall in love this year. What a wonderful - never thought it would happen - thing to be wrong about - just so right :-) _

Scruffy Dog Report. 12/14/2011

No Indigo doesn't look like that. lol. I doubt that pooch gets to romp in the lake on her daily walk as our Indigo does. I am planning our holiday shopping 2011 and it includes gifts for the dog. A new retractable dog lead with it's own LED light to illuminate her at night. We are heading back to the tropics this winter and after our scare two years ago when we walked her over the top of a red bellied black snake walking home by moonlight I think we will be using a torch this year to light her path at night.

My Indigo - poodle is desperately in need of a clip. She is currently suffering the same fate ad a the house. I am in the midst of editing a completed manuscript for a novel. I did manage a full brush though of her overgrown burr attracting hair yesterday. I know everyone is trying to smarten up their dogs in time for Christmas parties.

I bought Indigo a new brand of dog food yesterday and worrying that she might not like it I mixed it through with her old favorite mix. She is picking her old food out and trowing it on the floor.  Cheeky .....
I guess that means she loves the new brand.

I have Stephen King (in spirit_ alongside me as my mentor and am about to edit my 2,000 words for the day and not come up till it's done - then attend to email,- exercise - rest - read-sleep.
Well that's the plan - if he can do it - I'm going to learn how to fit all that in.

Airport worker fired from job for trying to protect dog. 12/07/2011

All the airport workers who saw the emaciated, weak hunting dog in his crate at Reno-Tahoe International Airport were concerned the dog would not survive the flight to Texas. The photo depicts a healthy pointer. The poor dog required more than an austin allergy doctor to bring it back to good health. One does wonder how pwoplw can treat animals like that or why they own them in the furst place of they are not an animal lover.  Fortunately most people go out of their way for their pets.

Reg and I need to pull the belt in and sage the $800. required for Indigo to have tartar scrapped from her teeth and I am afraid Indigo is going to have to toughen up and do her part too because it is since we purchased a softer semi dry dog food that her teeth have deteriorated so badly. Sometimes loving your dog is not doing what they want you to do. She is going to be very unhappy being made to chew and not just get her food in easy soft bites. I have always been particular to give my dogs a balanced diet that includes cereals, vegetables and meat, poultry of fish as this helps minimize allergy and other health problems however they do need to have hard food to chew to benefit their teeth. Teeth health affected their general health.

This pointer's body was covered with sores, his paws were bloody, and he was too - Read more :- Airport Baggage Worker Fired for Trying to Help Abused Dog dogblog.dogster.com_

Oldest Dog. Pusuke, a male cross breed lived to 26 years of age. 12/06/2011

_Reg and I owned a poodle, named Bo Derik who lived to the grand doggie age of 20. I know poodles have a long life span on average. It appears they do not make the record books as this cross breed dog has done.
The world's oldest living dog recognised by the Guinness Book of Records has died at its home in Japan.

Pusuke, a male cross breed, died at Sakura in Tochigi prefecture at the age of 26 years and nine months - equivalent to more than 125 in human years.

Owner Yumiko Shinohara says Pusuke had been showing a good appetite and kept up with his daily morning and evening strolls until Monday morning when he suddenly refused to eat and appeared to have difficulty breathing.

He died peacefully in the afternoon, about five minutes after Ms Shinohara returned home from running errands.

"I think (Pusuke) waited for me to come home,'' the 42-year-old housewife said, adding that she wanted to thank Pusuke for many good memories through the years.

Pusuke was certified for the Guinness title in December last year.

_The Beagle is one of the most beautiful natured dogs. We owned a Beagle once. Sunshine was her name and sunshine was what she brought into the life of our family. She was more then children's dog than mine.

This is a sad and happy all at the same time, story.

Taking the Dog for a Run 12/01/2011

About to go for a little 10 minute run with the dog and then put away....drum roll...one months worth of washing. lol. :-). Yes NaNoWriMo is over though I continue on as a novelist - I'll not be stopping my writing.
These long months of drafting a novel might be creatively successful but they will also create thee need for more Internist Jobs if we don't keep a balance of writing with physical activity.

Dogs are great for encouraging owners to get out there and exercise. Indigo needs a long walk every day and happily agrees to one morning and night. Here at our summer retreat the walk takes her to the lake every day and that is heaven for a water loving dog like a poodle.
7 Month Goals - Day One www.artslim.org‎_ _ Seeing as NaNoWriMo is over :)

I set myself seven month fitness goals and began the warm up to them yesterday. I am about to put my gym clothes on and begin day one of a seven month fitness...Indigo our poodle will love my taking more time to take her out to play and run with her.  We take her for a walk to the lake every day and lol, you can tell the temperature of the day from Indigo's behavior. Today was a one swim day. Yesterday was a five swim day.
